Andrew M. Muñoz

I’m Andrew, a Mexican-American artist and graphic designer from Atlanta, GA. My approach to design, branding, and thinking are informed by my experiences as a painter and being an enthusiastic learner. Currently pursuing an M.A. in Advertising at SCAD-Atlanta and apprenticing as a tube pumper at a neon sign workshop in Atlanta, GA.

My artwork stems from an innate sense of surrealism and my experience growing up as a Mexican-American in mainstream American society. This leaves me with a sense of distance as I search the commercial and cultural landscape for clues as to who I am, who we are, and the overall nature of reality. By selecting and manipulating cultural signs and symbols, my work harnesses multiple meanings in a way that mirrors the inherent surrealism of contemporary life and the human experience.
